I thought it about time that I updated everyone on my 1,500 mile walk in 2022 in aid of the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
So far I have walked 492 miles which means I'm on target to walk 1,677 miles in the year - well over my target. I only have one rule. I don't include anything that isn't a deliberate walk i.e steps taken in the garden or around the house. The distance has to be a deliberate walk.

It's been a lovely few days in North Norfolk but today it's a return to normality via a visit to Fakenham Races with the family. Now that takes me onto another line of thought. I don't trust e-tickets although to get into the races I have had to download them to my mobile as I'm not anywhere near a printer.
Call me old fashioned but I like the comfort of having pieces of paper in my hand. Interestingly a travel expert on the radio a few days ago was urging people at airports to print out tickets before they set off.
Apparently fiddling around to find e-tickets on phones and tablets is increasing the time it is taking people to get through security etc. Taking paper tickets means that there is no need to hunt around for them - unless of course you have lost them or they are at the bottom of a bag.
The expert added that people are having to be re-educated about travelling. It appears we have lost the knowledge to get through airports. That includes the fact that only small amounts of liquids are allowed in hand luggage.
I once put some mobile charges and power packs in my checked in luggage and got called back to have my cases searched. So it's quite difficult to remember what goes in hand luggage and what goes in checked in luggage. Maybe we all need a three day course in it!
In a couple of weeks we will be flying for the first time for quite a few years. I hate airports (particularly Stansted) but guess I will just have to grin and bear it. Hopefully the school holiday rush will be over by then.
