1/ It's difficult to get back to sleep and
2/ I get more ideas for writing and then I can't get back to sleep.
I was so tired from Saturday's events that on Sunday morning I didn't wake up until 9 am. I couldn't believe it when I looked at the clock.
But Monday morning it was back to being awake at 3 am. And that's when another idea for another book came to mind.
So a quick recap.
The book on the massacre at Le Paradis in France is virtually ready to go. Myself and John Head will be having what is known as a belt and braces day on Wednesday when we will be finishing it and then we will be looking for somebody to print it.
Next will be my autobiography which is written and I'm now in the arduous task of editing it which I estimate will take a couple of months before I look to self publish on Amazon.
That will be followed by my book of the first year of my blogs. That's way too long and may need to be heavily edited, although perhaps I'll just let it run.
Next will be my very light story of a young reporter in a seaside town which was written in the seventies and which I recently came across again when looking through some old files. This needs to be re-read and sections re-written. I said it was a light read but there is (spoiler alert). a death in it.
So I woke up early yesterday morning with another idea floating around my head. A book on Hethersett from my perspective. This has been prompted by a friend who recently said You must have seen a lot of changes in the village in the time you have lived here.
And so I began thinking about that and suddenly realised that I have every day that I've lived in the village documented in my daily diary and news from the village documented in over eight years and 99 editions of Hethersett Herald.
So I can produce a reasonable history of the village and it's main events from my own memory and reminiscences. So I've added that to the list.
And finally, well finally for now, a small group of us will hopefully be meeting in the new year to research and write about the parish church. I have already got a considerable amount of material and the idea is for different people to research different aspects of the history of the church. This could well turn into another book.
I'm going to have to desperately try not to wake up at 3 am in the future as I cannot take on any more ideas for books - well not for a few months anyway.

About a year ago I came up with an idea that I knew I would never follow through as I just didn't have the time.
The idea was to turn some of my better Norfolk photographs into beer mats, coasters, jigsaws and many other things.
As I go to various craft fairs I find that numerous people have already done this which saves me a job.
One of my favourites that I would love to buy are jigsaws of Norfolk scenes, many of which are in North Norfolk. There's one thing stopping me and that's the price. The jigsaws are on sale for 25 pounds and that's just too expensive. Nationally produced jigsaws seem to sell from around 13 to 17. 25 just puts me off although I imagine they are quite expensive to produce. I wonder how many they are selling. I have seen them at a number of fairs and in a number of outlets.

On days like the past few when it's cold and wet it's difficult just to get out of bed. So coping mechanisms have to be put in place. So rather than me tell you my coping mechanism which usually consists of just staggering up I would like to know about yours. So over to you.
