Most things in Hethersett are now shut although I believe the Queen's Head and Janey's Café are running take away menus. The chemists is still open and Church Farm shop is doing a roaring trade. People are shopping locally and Jake and his team are to be congratulated for keeping well stocked. It is ironic, as I have said before, that a few months ago the shop was really struggling due to the temporary traffic lights on the B1172. It's interesting that nobody has mentioned or complained about the lights for some time. Now we have other things on our mind.
Spent quite a bit of today writing articles for Hethersett Herald which I hope to publish next Friday. Learnt quite a bit more about Heather Williamson today for a tribute feature. Apparently it wasn't just Hethersett that Heather served. She was also mayor of Broadstairs in Kent and her son Don has sent me some really nice photos to go with the article.
I understand that we have had more instances of youths riding their bikes and doing wheelies in front of cars. Firstly this is gross stupidity and highly dangerous and secondly shouldn't they be staying at home at the moment? There are fears that with the schools now closed this road problem could escalate over the coming weeks.
