I am so pleased that so many people are enjoying my ramblings. This will be my third one of the day. Just a short walk today after doing some essential food shopping but went past one of the sunniest and most upbeat places possible on the way towards Wymondham town centre.
This brought a smile a few weeks ago and now there are many more Teddy Bears and works of art. It really is quite stunning.
I am also hugely heartened by news that many people will be celebrating the 75th anniversary of VE Day on Friday afternoon. The original plans were for a weekend of celebrations organised by the parish council. Obviously these all had to be cancelled. Now I am hearing of a number of street parties that will be taking place (with proper distancing of course). Many roads, including my own, will be enjoying music. It all sounds like fun (or as much fun as you can have at the moment and I believe that wine will be involved).
If anyone is prepared to let me have copies of photographs for the June edition of Hethersett Herald please send them to [email protected]. The village Good News magazine is also looking for some photos and I will be very happy to pass them onto the editor.
Finally today - earlier I included a biography of Raymond Coller who lost his life in the Second World War. Regular blog reader Caryl Wright informs me that there are two windows in St Saviour's Chapel (Regimental Chapel) in Norwich Cathedral which were donated in memory of Raymond and his brother. I will certainly have a look once Lockdown is over.
