This one has been something of a slow burner and something I haven't commented on to date.
I am talking about the COVID dissenters. Those people who claim that COVID doesn't exist and it's all an elaborate move to clone our DNA and control us through vaccination.
I have never heard so much drivel in my live. Where do these people pick up this absolute baloney from?
Just who would you believe - your hugely qualified doctor who says the jab is a life-saver and very very safe and will allow us to get back to normal or some idiotically stupid man/woman who doesn't have the sense or intelligence of a gnat (and that's probably being unkind to gnats) who says it's the state's way of controlling you and COVID doesn't actually exist? If they don't have the vaccine these morons will soon realise who has been telling the truth while the rest of us can get back to enjoying life. It is beyond my understanding what thought processes these idiots go through to come to their conclusions.
I even try to put myself in their shoes and try to understand their thought processes. But I must admit in this case I have no understanding of where they are coming from.
This all came to my mind through a friend who worked for many years at the BBC. He posted on Facebook and indeed was interviewed by the BBC on leaflets and rubbish circulating where he now lives. My mate John said this:
"I would find these claims of a worldwide conspiracy involving every health worker, immunologist, epidemiologist, virologist, and journalist funny if they weren't so widely believed, and so dangerous."
Apparently there is a website where you can download nonsense about COVID and the vaccines and you can actually buy stickers. One of the things that have been circulating is a newspaper which ironically calls itself The Light with a sub heading A Truthpaper. I have no idea why they can give such a load of old tosh that title. The paper and accompanying website is about as far away from the truth as you can get.
I won't bore you with the contents of this so called "Truthpaper" other than to print a paragraph of its twaddle:
"The NHS was never, at any point, overwhelmed - many of the staff became so bored they began recording themselves doing choreographed dance routines for morale boosting purposes."
This is insulting to all those frontline workers (and I have a number in my family) who have almost worked themselves to a standstill during the pandemic. I feel I need to say no more.

Does the word pingle ring a bell with anyone? Is it a peculiarly Norfolk word?
I remember as a child being accused at times of "pingling" or being a "pingler." Did anyone suffer a similar fate?
If you have no idea what the word means or how it was used I will enlighten tomorrow.

Does the name Trevor Peacock mean anything? Probably not. If you've ever watched The Vicar of Dibley you would know him. He played Jim Trott - you know the one who when he was asked a question would respond "yes yes yes yes yes yes no" in a very throaty voice.
Like with so many people, Trevor was not only an actor. He had many strings to his bow - one of which was the writer of hit songs as my cousin Clive found out and told me.
Trevor Peacock wrote "Mrs Brown You've Got a Lovely Daughter" which was a hit for Herman's Hermits, "Mystery Girl" a hit for Jess Conrad, "Made You" a hit for Adam Faith, "Gossip Calypso" a hit for Bernard Cribbins, "Stick Around (Billy Fury) and "That's What Love Will Do" and "Natures Time For Love" which were both hits for Joe Brown.
In addition he wrote the lyrics for "Be Nice To Him Mama," "You Know What I Mean," "Funny All Over" and "He'll Never Come Back" for the Vernon Girls and contributed lyrics for the musical show "Passion Flower Hotel" and "Andy Capp" which was a musical collaboration with former Animals keyboard player Alan Price.
Trevor Peacock also compered Drumbeat for the BBC and wrote scripts for the pop shows Oh Boy and Six Five Special.
Sadly Trevor died recently but I bet next time you see a repeat of the Vicar of Dibley you will see him in a different light.

Finally today some photos from a walk round Norwich. I am gradually turning my photos in to little slide presentations with music on my You Tube channel. So if you want to see all of those from my latest walk just go to.
