It's all very confusing and just how do you chose which ones to read? I couldn't help but think back to the early days of literature when a book was a thing of wonder. Now anyone who has ever had a coughing fit has written about it.
That's not the only confusing thing though. We popped into Marks and Spencers because we had a £5 off £40 coupon. The problem with this is we didn't really need £40 of shopping but we didn't want to waste a coupon!!!! So we now have enough coffee to last us for months, not to mention a shelf full of custard tarts.
But that's not where it ends. We got to the checkout and got £5 off our £40, but then there was 10% off meat with a Sparks card and 10% off something else. It all got very confusing. Gone it seems are the days when £1.50 meant £1.50.
Mind you it was a lovely day in Norwich - sun and warmth at last. There were loads of people around - almost as if everyone has come out of hibernation. Social distancing was pretty much impossible. For us there was a distinct Italian flavour to the day.
We went to Gelato in Opie Street where I had a cone full of sorbet and some other nutty ice cream. I can say no more than a young boy in the corner who declared to his dad "this is the best ice cream I've ever had." Then we went to Saporita for lunch. Lovely Italian food in a restaurant owned by an Italian family - so pleased just to be open again.
Had a wander down the Cathedral Close and found an interesting perspective of the Cathedral itself. The main double doors were open meaning you could stand and look down the nave. Then walked round to see the memorial to those who died in the Le Paradis massacre in 1940. I mentioned this in Friday's blog. It was good to have a quiet look and a little reflection on our own.

The football season is coming to and end but today there were a couple of very important games to watch on TV. Firstly Brentford won the Championship play-off final against Swansea to join Norwich and Watford in the Premiership next season. It was good to see a footballing team winning over one that seemed more intent in fouling and kicking the opposition. Then there was the Champions League final between Manchester City and Chelsea.
I was amused that before the start of the Brentford v Swansea game they played two national anthems - the English (God Save the Queen) and the Welsh (Land of Our Fathers). Problem was most of the Swansea players were anything but Welsh and probably couldn't understand a word of the Welsh language.

Watched a ridiculous advert on television. I didn't even make a note of what it was advertising. Basically it had a boss and a possible new recruit walking through an office whilst the workers threw stuff at them. One thrower was berated by the boss and promised that in the future he would make sure he threw items at the boss to hit him rather than miss. "make sure you do" he replied. And at the bottom of the screen was a warning telling people in the real world not to throw things at their boss. Sometimes the crassness of adverts is beyond comprehension.
I hope you enjoy some of my latest photographs of Norwich. Tried once again to get some unusual angles and subjects. I think the clear blue skies tell their own story.
