Yesterday I started work on Hethersett Herald at about 7.45 am. Wrote various things and did some editing, looked at the clock and it was 9.30. I just couldn't believe it. Almost two hours had shot by and it seemed more like two minutes.
Time is always the same. Every hour is made up of 60 minutes and every minute is made up of 60 seconds but time sometimes goes by in a flash and sometimes hangs heavy.
Same with temperatures. On Wednesday it was 10 degrees and I felt relatively warm. Yesterday it was 10 degrees and I felt very cold and went out wearing a heavy coat and gloves.
Sometimes 20 degrees can feel a lot hotter than other days when it's 25 degrees. Which just proves what a strange mixed up person I am, always feeling cold when I'm particularly tired but I guess that's the situation with most of us.
One of the articles I will be carrying in the December Hethersett Herald will be about people suffering from eating disorders and how they and their families can cope with the festive season.
The article makes a very good point. We are almost encouraged to over eat and over indulge over Christmas and then equally encouraged to make New Year's resolutions about losing weight and cutting back on food and drink. No wonder it's all very confusing for people with eating disorders or body image problems.
The article will make some suggestions for getting through Christmas if you have an eating disorder. This will be followed up by an article on getting through Christmas for those suffering from anxiety or depression. We must never forget that not everyone loves Christmas. For some it can be the worst time of the year.
Today I'm going to try to play tennis for the first time in many weeks. I hope my sore heel holds up.
Then late afternoon it's a meeting of the Friends of Hethersett Library when we will be making final arrangements for the children's party the following Saturday. It is rumoured that Father Christmas will be at the party.
