I'm not sure just what I hate about it but there it is. It's a strange thing because that voice has appeared in the past on television (occasionally) and radio (regularly) through being a press officer with Norfolk Police.
But, like so many others, I always avoided watching or listening. I was caught out once though. I had the family in the car and had the local news bulletin on and something I had recorded a number of days previously came out of the speakers. My sons, who must have been very young, gaped in astonishment. How could dad be in the radio and in the car at the same time? It took some explaining.
Likewise on holiday on one occasion, many miles from home (it may even have been Spain), I tuned into the UK news and out came my voice over some subject or other (probably a murder or major crime). I cringed and the boys once again got confused. "How can dad be at work when he's here on holiday with us?"
Maybe eventually with the podcasts I will get used to hearing my own voice, especially now they are on itunes as well. I would like to build up the number of people who listen and today I'm off to Home Farm Gin to get my first interview which I will put on a podcast either later today or tomorrow morning.
Yesterday I did a nine mile round trip walk to Wymondham and back and took a few more photos of Wymondham Abbey in the sunshine (you can never have enough photos of Wymondham Abbey). Also took some photos of the town war memorial which brought up an interesting story which I will relate in my blogs at a later date.
I apologise to a friend (he will know who he is) for asking the most stupid question possible. He was waiting in a queue outside a bank in Wymondham and said "hello." "Hello," I replied "What are you doing here?" It seems even more ridiculous now I'm putting it down in print.
