I put the photos on Facebook yesterday and a lot of local residents voiced the opinion that the land should be allowed to become an open area for wildlife. We know that in the past planning permission was refused for dwellings on the land and obviously whoever buys the land will need to take that into consideration. The auctioneers state that there are a number of tree preservation orders in force on trees on the land. Sadly most of them have already been felled!

If you've ever attended one of the hazardous chemical amnesty days at the Ketteringham Recycling centre you will know you have to chose the right time to go if you don't want to be caught in a lengthy queue.
A number of hazardous waste days have been set up throughout the county in September and October and the Ketteringham event will take place on 25th, 26th and 27th September from 9 am to 5 pm.
The advice for missing those queues is to:
- Consider visiting later, up until 5pm when things may be a touch quieter.
- Avoid taking other waste on these dates or take it to a different centre.
If you have small amounts of leftover paint (half a tin or less) you can dry it out and put it in your kerbside rubbish bin.
Hazardous waste that can be dropped off includes wood preservatives, insecticides, weed killers, paint, thinners, varnishes and special cleaning products. Those attending will be required to practice safe social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
