I know, I know, I should have saved it as I went along or at least copied it so I could have pasted it, but you see at the moment my brain is scrambled after five momentous days in Sussex, culminating on Monday with our family wedding which saw our eldest son getting married and us welcoming a new member to our family.
So now I'm trying to re-create that blog and remember just what I wrote and that's always difficult as this isn't the first time I've done this and I never seem to learn. It annoys me how easy it is to wipe work out at just the touch of a button.
Before losing everything, I had been putting photographs taken at the wedding onto a special web page. This is a great innovation as over 600 photographs have been already uploaded. Today everyone takes photos on their mobile phones while I still insist on sticking with my clunky camera. I can't come too far into the modern world.
We were fortunate with the weather on Monday. It stayed warm enough to be able to sit outside until 11 pm and you cant say that about many days this summer.
The wedding took place in Alfriston in East Sussex. It's a delightful village on the road between Eastbourne and Brighton. Getting there was tough though. On Sunday there was a pre-wedding barbecue after which we set off for the seven mile trip only to get caught up in the Eastbourne Airshow traffic and as a consequence it took an hour to do those seven miles.
We were staying in a cottage in the grounds of Wingrove Hotel where the wedding was taking place. Our accommodation had three bedrooms and a serious electrical problem.
On deciding it was time for bed on Sunday night I tried turning on my bedside light which wouldn't work. Thinking it might be a loose plug, I tried to push it into the socket. The front of the plug fell off and suddenly I got a dull thudding pain all the way up my arm. It was obviously an electric shock and was very unpleasant but luckily no permanent damage was done. Do I hear you say it might have made an improvement? How dare you!
With this blog I have included some family photos and you will see that I'm obviously the black sheep of the family as all the others are gorgeous. No I'm not fishing for compliments, just being honest about my shortcomings (with short being the operative word here).
We were talking about family initials. My eldest son Chris' new bride is Alicia which gives her the initials AS, same as my lovely wife Anne. Emma has the initials ES which is the same as her son Elliot (our daughter-in-law and grandson) whilst granddaughter Poppy has the same initials -PS- as myself.
Now our son and his new bride are also expecting a baby. I have held off giving you this news until they announced it on social media which they have now done. So we are all delighted. I wonder if the newcomer's initials will co-incide with anyone else. I'm not divulging whether it's a boy or a girl yet as I'm not sure they've made that announcement.
I'm sure I will talk about the wedding some more once I've had time to remember just what went on. Suffice it to say that the food and service were very good and sitting out in the garden I almost felt I was in the Mediterranean or certainly somewhere abroad and not in East Sussex.

I was very disappointed to hear that fans were denied being able to see the Lionesses on their return to this country. Apparently a sizeable crowd had built up at the airport to welcome them home but the players and staff left through a secret door, thus avoiding the fans whom I'm sure just wanted to cheer their achievements and show their support. There was certainly no disgrace in my opinion in losing in the final. To my mind this was rather insulting to those who had turned up.

Finally today a question from one of the quiz programmes.
What name links a tennis champion, an Oscar winning actress and the years 1969/1970?
Answers tomorrow.
In the meantime I hope you enjoy the photos.
