So a couple of nights ago I dreamt of going to a conference. This was on the eighth floor of a hotel for which I had to get into a lift using the combination 1,000. But when the lift opened it led to a street where I caught a bus that always stopped too late for me to get to the venue on time. And all this while I was with an actress called Mary of Teck worried about whether Teck was her surname.
That was about it. Where Mary of Teck came into it I have no idea. In reality she was Queen Mary - wife of King George V. But in my dream she was an actress! Strange things dreams. The name Mary of Teck must have come from the back recesses of my memory.
For a number of years I used to have a couple of recurring dreams - one of which I'm sure many people have had. It involved a clown. I would be driving along when a clown jumped out into my path. I hit him, knocking him into the air. He somersaulted and as he came down I could clearly see his face laughing at me. I'm sure this is a pretty common nightmare.
More personal to me was another one. At my grammar school to get into the school chapel for sixth form assembly I had to go up a winding flight of very narrow stairs. In my dream I had to crawl through a narrow opening at the top of the stairs and always got stuck. I also had a dream that despite being in my late 20s I was stuck in the sixth form, unable to leave the school and being made to re-sit the same exams.
If you have recurring dreams I would love to hear about them.

Over the years I have also found myself having psychosomatic illnesses which I'm sure were brought on by some outside factor. During one year at grammar school, I always felt ill on Monday mornings. This was obviously a result of having to return to school after the weekend. Not that I disliked school at all - so it was very irrational but it happened time after time.
Then for many years I often got a sick headache on a Monday evening for no reason whatsoever. I often had to go to bed early evening. I think it was my mind playing tricks on me because once again I wasn't unhappy and was doing a job that I enjoyed. Mind you that could have been through eye strain because since I have been wearing glasses to read and watch television, I haven't had a problem.

There was an item on the local news yesterday about King's Lynn Football Club struggling to complete their season. Someone from the club was suggesting that teams that couldn't complete their season through lack of finance should be allowed to stop now whilst others who could afford to should continue. This is complete nonsense. It would lead to chaos in the various leagues. Many local leagues were called off months ago of course.
King's Lynn's plight does raise a number of points in my mind. As you will know sport has played a massive part in my life - both professionally and as a hobby and I will develop this line of thought in tomorrow's blog

My wife is a big follower of Joe Wicks, the fitness coach. Every morning at 9 am she starts 20 minutes of his fitness programme. Joe seems to be a good guy but some of his comments are a touch asinine.
He often does his workouts in fancy dress - once he wore a full dinner suit which is not the best thing to wear when you are running around.
Often Joe incorporates a quiz with his workouts. It is obvious that he hasn't written the questions as he sometimes has a problem reading them off his screen.
Yesterday he had a quiz about human inventions and one of the questions was: "What did Marie Curie discover?"
He gave the answer - polonium and radium and then said: "Wow she was a very smart woman." Possibly something of an under statement there
