Tonight I would like to remember a wonderful servant to the village who has died.
Heather Williamson was a champion of the village and in particular the elderly and the environment. Four years ago she received a major award from South Norfolk Council for her outstanding contribution to village life.
I was on the parish council with Heather for a number of years and always valued her thoughtful but forthright opinions and her kindness.
Heather was 91 and spent her later years living at Hethersett Hall Care Home. We will have a full tribute to Heather in the next edition of Hethersett Herald.
News tonight that gyms, bars, restaurants and cinemas will all be closing comes as no surprise but it is shocking just what this virus has done to the entire fabric of our society.
People continue to support each other. One of the latest acts of kindness comes from local author Geoff Martin who is offering a copy of his new historical novel free of charge. Geoff points out that it is finished but not proof read. If you fancy a copy just email Geoff at [email protected].
