To me this takes the biscuit. The man has broken so many rules it isn't true. He is morally bankrupt and just a laughing stock but all he cares about is holding onto his own position. He obviously has no guilt about his behaviour and, rather than issue a genuine apology to the people of this country, prefers to hide himself away and plot and scheme on how to keep his job. I have absolute contempt for this kind of self serving human being who seem to have no understanding of right and wrong.
Some MPs need to be reminded that their job is to represent the very people who voted them in and not to take part in pathetic party politics trying to defend the indefensible. They are answerable to the people and voters and not party Whips.
We have an MP in South Norfolk for whom the initials it has been suggested stand for Missing Person rather than Member of Parliament. Richard Bacon's web site states: "I am here to serve and represent local people in South Norfolk regardless of how you voted. If you need my help then please don't hesitate to get in touch."
I and over 100 other people have taken Mr Bacon up on this to ask him about various concerns in South Norfolk. He has failed to respond to so many that the story made the local Media. His website is just one page which hasn't changed for months. I sent him an e-mail back in November asking him how he intends to get back the respect of Hethersett people after failing to respond to their concerns about over-development and lack of facilities. To date I have received no reply and not even an acknowledgement which doesn't surprise me in the least.
Which takes me onto another pet hate - promise and bluster. You will all have been subjected to this. It comes in the form of promises about service that are never kept. After all nobody ever put together a website stating "Our service is absolute rubbish." They all promise the earth and very often deliver very little.
It's the difference between theory and practice. But enough of this let's have a look at something a little more important - slippers for example.
My old ones had lasted for two years and needed replacing. So for Christmas I received a new pair. Problem is they are slippers that have leather tie ups. I have had these before and had the same problem. However hard you tie them and even if you do a double bow it comes undone. The result is it trails on the floor and then you stand on it and lurch forward. See I told you this was more important - after all whatever I think of Boris, he isn't going the break my neck like a pair of new slippers can.

This coming week we are at last going to see The Book of Mormon at Norwich Theatre Royal. The pandemic stopped us last year when we originally booked. Not sure what I will make of it but I will report back. This week also sees the latest meeting of Hethersett and the Meltons Sports Association - a group I set up about 15 years ago to bring various sports clubs in Hethersett together for the benefit of all. It hasn't met for some time but is another example of how we seem to be getting back to normal.
I will be glad when we don't have to wear face coverings in shops. I go into a book shop, put the mask on along with glasses and everything steams up. Now I might actually get to look at the books! I intend to continue wearing a mask on public transport as it still seems to be the sensible thing to do.
Finally an update on the mega marathon 2022 walk in aid of the East Anglian Air Ambulance. I only did a very short walk yesterday - under two miles. It did take me over the 100 miles for the month and I'm still on target for the 1,500 miles aim. Tomorrow is Monday and that's long walk day. I should still do over 130 miles in January. I have already reached over 50% of my £500 target and so am hoping to exceed it during the year.
