Anyone who knows me will know that I'm big on the concept of community.
A community can be very small, consisting of just a handful of people or it can be a large entity. And of course we have the concept of community spirit. Then there are physical communities and online communities.
Everything about the word community is a positive and so that's how I like to see my blog. I guess its positivity outweighs its negativity.
Only you can tell me if I do spread a little ray of positivity or not.
You all know that I firmly believe that if everyone works in harmony for the good of a local community, it will have a positive and domino effect on larger groups. Good practice can run off from one group to another. In Hethersett the parish council is about to undertake a programme of replacing the old fashioned bulbs in street lights with LEDs and also dimming many of them in the wee small hours. This will save money and help with the carbon footprint.
One village just a few miles away doesn't have any street lighting. This was a definite decision but it's not one I would ever want to see repeated in our village. When I was working in pr for the police we used to urge people parking cars to leave them close to or under street lighting which was proven to deter would-be thieves.

This blog is a little later than usual as it was a long night at football watching Norwich beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-1. It meant getting home late and so needing to stay in bed slightly later this morning.
Football matches used to last a touch over 90 minutes. This one lasted 107 minutes and I suspect it could have been the longest game ever at Carrow Road without extra time and penalties. So let's say it could have been the longest ever league match.
Thanks to a number of injuries, the first half saw seven minutes added on. This was beaten by the second half which had an additional 10 minutes due mainly to the referee leaving the pitch because his communication gear wasn't working. Whatever did they do when referees couldn't communicate with linesmen through technology? Oh yes they went over to them and spoke.
I had five layers on but it turned out not to be too cold. Looking rather like Michelin Man, I found it difficult to drive the car as I had difficulty moving with all the clothes on. It also makes it difficult to breathe at times. The other threequarters said I looked ridiculous. I replied that we were going to a football match and not a fashion display and I didn't care what I looked like as long as I kept warm.
I find when I get cold, I start to shiver and just cannot get warm again. Then I feel truly miserable.
Today is another busy one and I will tell you about it tomorrow.
