We decided on Saturday that rather than have lunch in Ludlow we would drive to a farm shop just outside and on the way back to where we were staying.
Bit of a mistake. There was no compunction to buy anything as it was so overpriced as to be laughable and yes I do know about it being fresh local produce and you have to pay high prices for independence. There's a distillery in the grounds but the bottles of single malt whiskey were on sale for a penny under £80 which is just plain ridiculous.
Our lunch was pretty ropey. They had run out of orange juice in spite of the fact there was a shop next door that stocked it. Problem was this orange juice would be the expensive stuff and not the cheapo from the supermarket - not that there's anything necessarily wrong with that. They also had a strange method of paying. We queued up to get in and were shown to a table. Menus were delivered. We then had to queue up at a till to place our orders, get our cutlery and pay.
The food itself was poor. We had two types of soup in rather small containers. Our son's fish finger sandwich was tasteless and extremely overpriced and our daughter in law's halloumi wrap was only missing one vital ingredient - halloumi. There was a small amount but nothing to talk about, although we did talk about the lack of quality. I had a milk shake which was reasonable. The others stuck with water.

It seems incredible how time flies. A year ago over Easter we were on our rail journey through Spain and Portugal. Easter was a week later than this year. At Easter last year we were in Cordoba in Spain. I won't repeat anything from that trip as you can catch up with it on either Facebook or my website. It seems like yesterday. It was a tough trip and this Easter has been much more relaxing.

On Easter Sunday we drove a short distance to the very picturesque Carding Mill Valley. Again we had been here before but not with a three month old and a dog.
We walked so far but couldn't attack the climbs as on the past which was probably just as well as we had a Sunday roast booked at a nearby pub. This turned out to be good value once we worked out it was roast or nothing.

Today's photographs are more of Ludlow and were taken by the other four fifths. Yesterday's photographs will be put on tomorrow if that makes any kind of sense.
