A reflection on how things have changed in the village since we moved here well over 40 years ago. Have they in fact changed? The answer is yes and no. The village has grown and grown and grown again but essentially the feel about the village hasn't changed. There's a lot more parking but just as many volunteers making us what we are. one day I will write a full blog about all the changes we have experienced but that will take some remembering and recalling.
Then I thought about things from a reporter's point of view and came up with the conclusion that things go in waves. Over the years there have been times when I have had a very good relationship with certain areas and organisations. Then things change and I lose contact and then sometimes things come back and sometimes they don't and it's all down to the attitude of individual people.
Take Hethersett Hall for instance. Relationships with the care home are at an all time high. That's because the home cares about the community and the people in it. I could list other areas that are similar. It all goes in waves.
So yesterday evening we went to an art exhibition by residents at the home and that's what the photographs are about today. Hope you enjoy some of them. Most of the artists featured are in their nineties and still go to weekly art sessions with Juli Mobbs.
This year much of the artwork was for sale with donations going to the Alzheimer's Society. Hope you enjoy some of the photos.
