Annabelle Rose kindly sent me a list of "famous people" from Hethersett that she has come across.
This was the following:
David Fisher
Edward Flowerdew
Temperance Flowerdew
Matthew Hamont
Ralph Johnson....footballer
Ran Laurie
Robert Masters....historian
Richard K Morgan
Samuel Hardman Smith
Certainly there are some new names to me in this list. My website at www.hethersettherald.weebly.com has information on Temperance Flowerdew, Ralph Johnson and Samuel Hardman-Smith but the others are new to me and will need some research.
I would now like to talk a little about mental well-being in these difficult times. As many people much more qualified than me have said "it's ok to be sad and to be struggling at this time." That's certainly true. I don't think you will find anyone who hasn't felt depressed or struggled at some time over the past three months.
It's a natural reaction to having to live through periods of time that are alien to our way of life.
That's why it is so vital to set aside sometime during every day to do the things you enjoy doing. For me that's often writing this and other blogs and websites. Yesterday, for a variety of reasons which I won't bore you with here, I had a bad day. So today we went off to a place I find a considerable amount of peace from - the UEA Broad.
We had a lengthy walk around the Broad and then through the wood to Earlham Park and then back along the riverbank. The sun was out, the sky was blue and the exercise made everything seem so less bleak than last night when it was dull and cold.
I hope the photographs taken today brighten up your day just a little bit if you are struggling or feeling rather low.
