But first let's talk about magazines. They come in all shapes and forms - small, large, serious and amusing.
Some are independent and some just what we in the trade used to call puffs ie designed to support a specific topic or subject and just being full of waffle.
There are quite a lot of glossy magazines about Norfolk and many have sister publications throughout the country. Some are very interesting with a mix of travel and news and others are little more than advertising sheets.
We have a number come through the door. Most sadly are adverts surrounded by a few pretty irrelevant features of a general nature on subjects like gardening and food. Most of these we confine to the rubbish bin.
But some have valuable articles about the county. But back to the concept of Faces and Places. The older I get the more I seem to become interested in people's lives. How do they live, how do they spend their time, where do they live and much more. Places speak for themselves. We enjoy travel and meeting people in their specific places.
And of course many people and many places feature in my blogs. I guess I inveigle my way into their lives, often purely for minutes or even seconds.

Lovely to meet up yesterday with our friend Biddy and have a chat about life and the universe. Good to be able to let Biddy have a copy of the book. She appears on page 173.
And whilst I'm on the subject can I just say a huge thank you for all the lovely comments about the book. People have really got and understand what we were trying to do with its publication - and that's to keep memories alive.

I was having a trawl through Facebook yesterday and came across a message from the new licensees of Hethersett King's Head.
I had heard a rumour that the pub was changing hands yet again - that will make three times on a very short space of time.
Obviously I will be investigating for the next edition of Hethersett Herald. My hope is that the new people will be village and community focussed and hopefully last a tad longer than the last two.
The outgoing landlord started with a launch party that saw the place filled but from there the place didn't really capture the imagination or feel part of the community and that is essential if it's going to thrive. Watch this space as they say.
