It was from my energy provider EON. They have launched something called EON Next which I don't really understand. Being a simple person I just need to know that gas and electricity is being sent to me and how much it will cost.
These are issues the companies usually ignore. They are more interested in telling you how much you are admired/loved/valued etc etc, how important you are to them and how you can relax because everything you need is taken care of. This of course is all meaningless drivel usually cloaked in letters that plop through your letterbox and cannot be understood.
They usually add something like "you don't need to do anything" which obviously helps your relaxed state of mind. So I'm currently sitting back and relaxing while my energy prices go through the roof!

Had a chat with Richard the licensee of the Queen's Head in the village. He was busy cleaning his marquee to make it white and bright for the coming summer only to have his good work wasted by the advent of Sahara Sand.
Sahara Sand isn't an exotic cocktail or maiden but a solid yellow mass which has descended on us, laying a level of grime on many things. But then I thought about things. How remarkable that sand from the Sahara Desert has found its way over thousands of miles to leave deposits in our village? Makes you think while you are cleaning it off because the damn stuff sticks something rotten.

I'm starting a new column in my blogs and e-magazine entitled Places in Hethersett Where Vehicles Get Stuck. Whilst I was away I was sent a photograph of a bus that had broken down at the junction of two village roads, effectively blocking one road completely. Then yesterday a lorry got stuck trying to turn off Norwich Road and into Queen's Road. It does illustrate how difficult it is for large vehicles to negotiate parts of the village although the bus had broken down.

The warmth of yesterday took me by surprise. Off I went wearing a coat and on the second part of my walk just had to take it off and carry it although it was a thin one. Passed some people who said "weather took you by surprise?" Yes it certainly did and was very welcome.

The photographic gallery today is of our last day on the road from the latest trip. Pictures of Charlcote Manor and gardens. I have been fiddling around with my You Tube channel as well. I have lots of photos on that if anyone is interested. Just go to:
