Tiring, energy sapping, challenging and many other words might describe it. But there's still a magic about discovering new areas.
On Thursday we had a good look round the Spitalfields area and ventured into Shoreditch which I found a bit difficult to stomach thanks to the rubbish and graffiti that seemed to be everywhere.
I found Steward Street in Spitalfields. I knew it existed due to a book about the area by Dan Cruickshank. But I've no idea how it got its name. Would love to know if anyone knows the area. Perhaps it was named after the profession or maybe a well known local person. Any help greatly appreciated.
We went to the new immersive exhibition on the life and work of Vincent Van Gogh. How was it I hear you ask? I think you need to be a real Van Gogh fan (which I'm not) to experience it fully. It was colourful and informative and nice at the end to be able to sit in Van Gogh beach chairs whilst his work swirled around you on the four walls of a large warehouse. So yes worth a visit.

It looks as if the British Government has brought in a new rule for London. You have to talk very loudly into a mobile phone.
I wonder if these people realise that people like me are continually listening into their conversations!
So I feel sorry for a man named Mark who is working 60 hour weeks
And I feel sorry for the guy on the end of a phone who was being told "Naah mate. Look I'm trying to save you money here not cost you." That one sounded like a conman at work to me.
So next time you are talking loudly into a phone on the bus, on the train or in a restaurant etc just be aware that there are people like me listening into your conversations.
Today's photos come from the trip. I have a load of others that Anne took of the Christmas light which I will publish nearer Christmas.
