Nobody showered me with money or even cream cakes but I did go to my local post office which I have written about before.
It is now being run by the Hethersett Hearts charity, which means by a group of volunteers and a couple of trained and paid staff.
The post office is in Hethersett Library. I struggled in with about four parcels. Two were returns of clothes bought by the other threequarters that she either doesn't like or don't fit. I don't understand buying things like this because the majority of them go straight back and it seems like a big and annoying time waster to me.
If I need a shirt, I go and buy one. I can't be done with ordering them online, finding I don't like them and posting them back. But each to his/her own as they say.
Anyway, I struggled in with the parcels- at least they weren't too heavy. I was met by a charming and delightful lady behind the counter who couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. It made everything so easy.
Forced myself to go to the gym again. I can't say it's unpleasant and it did give me the chance to listen on headphones to the latest David Bowie offering which is outtakes and different versions of songs from my favourite Bowie album Hunky Dory. Bowie's lyrics around this time were just amazing.
But going to the gym is still an effort for me. I keep telling myself that it does me good, which it obviously does but I still take some convincing.
On my wander I went through the memorial field to have a look at the progress on the new pavilion and it's coming on leaps and bounds. I feel proud to have played just a small part in bringing this building to fruition and it will be a huge asset to the village.
The parish council is hoping it will be finished in time for coronation celebrations next May. The scheduled finish date is April but bad weather can always put dates back. As I looked at the progress of the building my only thought was "wow that's big."

My blog on our holiday is rapidly coming to a close but there will be a bit more over the coming couple of days as we move into December.
Today I'm going to mention a perceived problem that I believe Australia has. I would be interested in receiving comments from my Australian readers on this. So here goes with the blog.
And so to our last day in Perth. I'm not sure if a late night flight is good or not. In effect it gives you an extra full day to sightsee but it does mean a lot of hanging around before making the way to the airport.
I'm now going to talk about a serious situation here in Western Australia and I assume in the rest of the country as well.
To illustrate this I do need to use some bad language, so please excuse this.
As I'm sitting in the hotel lobby awaiting a time when it's sensible to go to the airport I can hear a woman demanding a refund for something or other. She has been shouting at a member of staff who looks of Asian persuasion. I hope that is not impolite.
"I'm Australian. This is my fucking country" were a few of the choice words I heard.
Perth is a beautiful city and somewhere we could happily live and we can't say that about many places. But there seems to be a slight racial undercurrent as I'm sure there will be in many large cosmopolitan cities throughout the world and this is where I have to be very careful how chose my words as nothing I'm about to say is fuelled by racism in any way.
Let's just say that Australia has a problem with tensions between non native Australians and iniginous people. We did see a lot of Aborigines hanging around the streets in certain areas and we were verbally abused on a number of occasions which wasn't very pleasant.
There seems to be a lot of shouting and swearing going on and I feel it inappropriate to comment any further as it is a very difficult situation for all involved.
And that's enough about meltdowns for now. We are coming to the end of our blog travelogue and I will be glad to get home as we have a couple of long flights ahead of us.
