First Man: Did you have a good Christmas
Second Man: Yeah it was ok. I went on a cruise to the Mediterranean. Family insisted I went along. It was a bloody big ship. 19 floors. I felt right crooked on the first couple of days. Didn't vomit but stayed in bed all day feeling sick. Couldn't seem to get me sea legs,
It was good though. Good food, good entertainment and they had 18 lifts. There were 19 bloody floors. I did like Madeira. We were only there for a day. So we got on the red open top bus and went round the bottom of the island. Then we got on the blue open top bus and went round the top bit of the island. Loved that and also Lisbon. The architecture there was incredible. I could have spent a week in both Madeira and Lisbon. Getting on the ship was easy. Drove down to Southampton and then a young girl just checked us in. Follow the sign to Pod 2 she said. We did. Dropped the car and cases off and got on the ship. Won't be going on any more cruises though.
First Man: I don't fancy it. I hate being constrained in space.
Second Man: That's not a problem. There were 19 floors. Bloody big it was
At that point they left to have a swim. I was interested in what he had to say about Lisbon as we are hoping to go there a bit later in the year. As for cruises. I love them. There is certainly no feeling of claustrophobia.
Did agree with what he said about Madeira though. Funchal is a lovely place. The last time we were there we hurtled down the streets in a basket. It's one of those things you have to do in Madeira. The baskets did have drivers though. Apparently there have been a few crashes but we were ok.
Funchal also has a museum to the footballer Ronaldo who was born on the island. There's a statue of the man in front of the building. It looks more like me than Ronaldo.
Yesterday I didn't take a single photograph in North Norfolk as the day was very dull. I will try to do a bit better today.
