That took us over the top of the A11 and the Cambridge to Norwich railway line. There was still plenty of traffic on the A11, The railway seemed deserted but, just after we left the bridge, we heard a train tootling along.
Managed a walk to Ketteringham Hall and a good look round the graveyard and the beautiful lake. Whilst there I met a former colleague of mine - Bob George - from when we both worked for Norfolk Police.
Bob is a very kind and friendly man and I have never heard him say a bad thing about anyone. It was good to have a chat with him and his wife even if it was at a considerable distance.
Walked back the long way to complete a walk of just under six miles. Hope you enjoy the photographs at the top of the page.
My Down Memory Lane photograph today was kindly sent to me by Chris Yemm. It shows the former Hethersett Village Hall which is now the social club. The date on the top of the building, as you will be able to see, is 1924. I will put more old time images on tomorrow.
