Last night we retained our Little Melton Quiz title with a one point win. I think it's the third time we have won this quiz, although we did make some really stupid mistakes. Three of us agreed that the railway station with the largest number of platforms in the world is Grand Central Station in New York, but for some reason we put Mumbai.
Grand Central Station has 44 platforms. We have been there but I don't remember all that many. I think we were travelling from New York to Philadelphia or was it Richmond?
But back to the quiz. We then had a questions as follows. Who wrote the lyrics for West Side Story. I didn't listen to the question and put Leonard Bernstein who of course wrote the music (and very fine it is too). I know full well that the lyrics were by Stephen Sondheim.

Have done a lot of gardening over the past two days - it's something I have a love-hate relationship with. Sometimes I'm happy to do it but other times I don't really want to be there. Bit like watching Norwich City really. I suppose when the garden looks nice it's all worth it. My problem is if you have to spend all your time doing the garden you never have time to sit and enjoy it.

Life in our village is never dull. There are a number of stories percolating at the moment and yesterday morning I met up with our three district councillors to talk about the possibility of a new health centre for Hethersett.
The district council is setting aside £4 million for a building and the land should be made available. The sticking point is whether the village can attract enough staff to run it, although it could still be a long time before it's built.
Our main butchers is also up for sale and there's lot of other stories around. I hope that my e magazine Hethersett Herald acts as a record of village life and keeps people informed and entertained. I'm now well into the April edition.
