There was a Steward Stroll during the day, however. We parked in a very small car park close to Cringleford Bridge and walked to the UEA along the riverbank. It's a lovely and quite short walk and of course we always end up in the café at the Sainsbury Centre for, on this occasion, coffee and a sausage roll.
Today sees the return of the Monday to Wednesday Eat Out to Help Out scheme. I think we will all be sad when it finishes at the end of the month. It has helped local businesses to attract people back and given people a much needed shot in the arm with food and drink at half price. It really has been a win win situation - win win that is until the Government works out how to pay for it!
I wonder what will happen when we return to full price food and drink in September? How will that affect numbers eating between Monday and Wednesday?
I mentioned a few days ago my interview with Connie Tindale about her care for hedgehogs. My resulting article has now appeared in the Eastern Daily Press Online website and you can view it at:

As I drove past the King's Head today I noticed men at work de-weeding (is that a word?) and generally cleaning the place up. My immediate hope was that somebody has been lined up to take the pub over but apparently they were just sprucing it up to make it more attractive to potential new landlords.
In the spirit of fairness I will take a photograph of its current condition for the next edition of Hethersett Herald as I have taken and printed many showing its deteriorating state. Maybe the owners EI Publican Partnerships will have some good news for us before too long following the disappointing withdrawal of Norfolk Table who were lined-up to take over at the watering hole.
