Floral tributes to the Duke had to be collected the day after his funeral. But the flowers will soon become part of the historical legacy of the village. They will be turned into compost by leading village environmentalist Dr Anne Edwards and it is likely they will then be spread around a Queen's Jubilee tree planted in Hethersett Memorial Playing Field. That tree is awaiting a plaque, but it does seem a very apt place for the composted flowers to end up.
There are a couple of photographs today of a small act of remembrance around the tree where the Rector of Hethersett The Rev Derek McClean read a prayer in support of the Queen and the Duke.
Spent quite a lot of yesterday preparing the May edition of Hethersett Herald. There's plenty of village news in this

The ground was solid and very different to a couple of months ago when there was so much mud that walking and keeping upright was a very difficult science.
