I should imagine many NHS staff would have thought to themselves "when this is all over the Government will do right by us and give us a decent rise as a genuine thanks for what we have done." How wrong they were.
When you take into account the amount of money that the Government has wasted on a track and trace system that we knew wouldn't work and didn't and all the waste of PPE it must be absolutely galling for those who have worked their fingers to the bone.
And before you all cry foul and call me a socialist I would like to point out that I don't think the Labour party would have done any better, although they might have been kinder. Politicians need to take a long hard look at themselves and search their conscience.
I would ask myself two questions. Could I be a politician and the answer is 100% yes. Could I be a frontline NHS worker in a COVID ward and the answer is 100% no.

Today I will complete my year of walking and a year of writing these blogs. In that time I have walked just under 1,030 miles. Tomorrow I'm looking to start my second year of walking with another target of 1,000 miles. I'm also setting myself a target of running at least 200 miles and also hoping to get back to the gym when it's allowed.
