Firstly we had the funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh - a slice of history. Then Norwich City gained promotion before they had kicked a ball.
I think everything that needs to be said about the Duke has been said. So my comments are about the coverage of the BBC.
Apparently they had over 100,000 complaints about their over the top coverage of the death. Today we had a build-up to the funeral, the funeral itself and then a dissection of the funeral. There were no less than three Royal correspondents featured - how many BBC journalists does it take to cover the Royal Family?
The main guy Nicholas Witchell annoys me intensely. I can't put my finger on just why but his delivery, his sanctimonious tone and his huge level of waffling about nothing just upsets me. Personally I would build a Room 101 (as in Orwell's novel 1984) and dump him in it along with two other people who really annoy me - Matt Baker for his sycophantic delivery and Jimmi Harkishin (Dev from Coronation Street) simply because he is very annoying in so many ways.

As for Norwich City. Well it will be so good next season to again see some of the world's greatest footballers at Carrow Road (social distancing allowing of course).
The only sadness is we couldn't be there to celebrate with them today as the match at home to Bournemouth was again behind closed doors and there is no chance of seeing them live again this season. So it was a glass of something good in front of the television.

Did go to the city yesterday. People are out and about again and my first stop was the battery shop on the market with a couple of watches and a car key to get them up and running again.
The queues at Primark were longer than ever. On one side of the shop it snaked all the way up almost to the Forum and at the other entrance just went right around the block. Perhaps somebody could explain to me why people are prepared to stand around for what can be well over an hour to go to this shop? Just what is the attraction?
In waiting for a family member in London Street, I shifted myself a touch so that I could stand equidistant between a blues combo on my right and an opera singer on my left. Mixing swamp blues with Puccini was an interesting experience. I'm not sure which I enjoyed listening to most.
