No joking apart, it's lovely when people use the phrase. So how do I get it all done ( the writing that is)? Well it's a matter of getting into a routine of checking and answering emails, writing blogs, doing regular work on Good News and Hethersett Herald and having a few cups of tea.
Nothing else to it really. When you love doing something it just flows and that's certainly the case with my writing. Other things I have to do I don't enjoy and all too often I put them off and I'm very aware of doing that. Sometimes I feel I should have a writing amnesty, but that would be a tough thing to do as I have so many ideas rolling around my brain.

Had the best welcome ever yesterday when eldest son arrived from Eastbourne for the football. No he wasn't that pleased to see us but his dog Beau was. It's only four days since we saw them but Beau was uncontrollable in a lovely sort of way. As I opened the door she flung herself at me and then raced round the house in sheer excitement. I haven't had this kind of hero worship for a few days. No make that ever.
Next she launched herself at the other four fifths who just happened to be sitting up in bed with a cup of lemon tea I had just made. Thankfully it had cooled down as it shot all over her courtesy of a very excited dog.
Welcome over and a slightly calmer dog, we got on with our day.
And it was a good one. Mid morning we set off for Norwich. The football was kicking off at 12.30 and so no time for our usual look round the city which for me means book shops. No time for chips on the market but there was time to get an ice cream from the Gelato in Opie Street.
Now there are often competitions to find the best ice cream parlours in the country. There needn't be because it's right here in Norwich. Earlier this week on our visit to Powys Castle there was an ice cream bike with a small cone costing £4.50! In Norwich you get either two or three scoops for that much. It's all home made in the shop with fresh ingredients, much of which are local.
I always have a mix of a fruity or sorbet with something less sharp. Yesterday it was tirimasu and a wonderful strawberry that tasted so much of strawberry that it could almost have been made with fresh strawberries. Oh yes it actually was.
Walked down to Carrow Road and there seemed to be more people there than usual which obviously wasn't the case because the ground is always pretty much full. It probably had something to do with the early kick off and getting everyone in by 12.30.
The atmosphere outside the ground wasn't particularly pleasant and rather intimidating and threatening. It was different inside the ground where the noise levels were in the stratosphere. Both sets of fans hate each other for no other reason than the fact that they are only 40 miles apart. There is no basis for this almost pathological hatred and at times it feels as if we are back in the days of gladiatorial contests in Ancient Rome.
I have nothing against Ipswich Town. To me they are just another football team. But this isn't a view shared by many others. I don't care much what their results are for the rest of the season. I would rather concentrate on my own team and with five games to go we still have a very good chance of getting into the play offs.
I do have to say that the Ipswich fans were poor. In the last 10 minutes of the game when their team needed their support they sat almost silent.
Norwich won 1-0 and at least our fans went home happy although one lady in the city centre didn't think that was the case. The other four fifths had her Norwich shirt on. I had mine covered up as it had got a touch chilly.
"What was the score at the football? She asked.
"Norwich won 1-0," we replied.
"Oh we didn't like to ask anyone else as they looked miserable and so we thought they had lost," she added.
She probably thought we looked like reasonably well adjusted people who weren't going to bite her head off or perhaps we were just smiling because we had booked a 3 pm table at Saporita for olives, pizza etc.
Got home to view the highlights of the match and marvel once again at the inept performance of a weak referee. Should Ipswich have had a player sent off and should Norwich have had a penalty? At the end of the day those questions weren't important but they could have been if we hadn't scored the only goal of the game.
Celebrated the victory with some cold cuts and a flagon of beer - sorry make that a bottle. Today we go from the sublime to the ridiculous with Hethersett Village Screen which is showing Barbie. We have avoided seeing this to date as we knew it was coming to the village hall. Same goes for next month when it's Oppenheimer.
Usually the featured film is preceded by some archive film which is always interesting. Oppenheimer lasts for three hours. I asked one of the organisers if they would be having the shorts before such a long film ?
"No and we'll probably have to stop it halfway through for a wee break."
Now being Scottish I'm not sure whether he was referring to a short break or a bathroom break.
