So for newcomers, a little bit about the blog and its aims and why I do it.
It all started when we had the first lockdown. I realised that I could use what skills I have to in some small way lighten the load for those who couldn't get out of the house. So the blog started as a record of my walks around my local area with photographs of the countryside. At that point I was blogging up to three times a day and the response was very heart-warming. I received so many messages from people saying how much they were enjoying the blogs.
Eventually I decided to make it a daily blog and that has continued ever since, covering numerous subjects as they come into my head. Sport, music, psychology, history, literature, nature, politics and much more have all found their way onto my blog.
Initially the blogs were put on my personal website and then I set-up a dedicated Facebook page for them. You can still view them all at www.peterowensteward.weebly.com/blog. Most of them are also available by scrolling down the Facebook page.
Over the past 18 months a lot of people have continued to read the blogs and I still receive many messages which I find very humbling.
So if you are new to what I refer to as my daily ramblings please do leave a comment. You will find that the blogs are usually posted around 6 am.
My initial idea was to stop blogging when lockdown restrictions were relaxed but the blogs have now become part of my daily routine, so I have no intention of finishing at present.

I may have remarked before about how much I like the reminiscences section of Facebook where they send you posts from years ago. Yesterday I got a set of photos from four years ago at the Sheringham 1940s weekend and I just love one of the pictures which I have included here. It really has a 1940s feel to it (not that I was around then to know what a 1940s feel was). What I like about this picture is its busyness and action. Hope you enjoy it as well.

Yesterday I went on a lunchtime walk with one of our district councillors Phil Hardy. We have much in common and enjoyed a good old chat as well as a cup of coffee at the end of the walk.
I took a couple of photographs looking across the fields at Hethersett. One of them I found an interesting subject to crop. So here you will find three versions of the same image. One is uncropped, one has much of the foreground cropped and one has foreground and sky cropped. To me it makes three different images of the same photo. I would be interested to hear which you prefer.

There is what promises to be a very important and lengthy parish council meeting scheduled for next Monday. Developers will be attending to talk about the next phase of village development which will then be discussed by the planning committee. Members of the public can attend and will also be given the chance to have their say. The presentation will take place in Hethersett Village Hall at 6.15 pm and will be followed by the planning committee at about 6.30 pm. The main council meeting will start 15 minutes later than usual at 7.45 pm. I have been asked to cover the event for the Eastern Daily Press and Norwich Evening News newspapers so will try to keep an open mind and cover the meeting in a balanced way.
