Let's start with a charming thing I witnessed on my way to play tennis. It was in Eaton Park and a family were sitting on a seat. A young girl was obviously learning to ride her bike and went very slowly and very wonkily into a wall. No drama as she seemed to deliberately go into the wall - albeit very gently.
I imagine it was her dad who said:
"Be careful. You don't want to damage that wall. It's been there for over 100 years."
I thought that very amusing and somehow quite lovely.

There was plenty of publicity yesterday for the leak about Prince Harry's latest book where he has a another go at the Royal Family and in particular his brother. I think former Royal correspondent Jenny Bond summed it all up when she said they were all squabbling like schoolkids.

Has anyone been watching the drama Stonehouse on television? We went through all three episodes a few night's ago. It was very entertaining but I can't work out whether it was a drama or a comedy.
I know somebody who knew Stonehouse and described him in less than complimentary tones - arrogant being one of the more printable ones.

I mentioned tennis. Yesterday was my first game for some weeks and I didn't feel too rusty at all. Can you guess what the worst winter conditions are in which to play tennis? I don't include frost, snow and ice because you can't play in them. No the worst condition is not cold or even light rain. The worst condition is bright sunshine which blinds you at one end of the court so that you can't see a thing.
I always drive to the courts one way and then come back home another in order to complete a circle or square. One of my obsessions I imagine. Not sure if anyone else does this as well.

I know I said that I wouldn't be setting any walking targets this year, but perhaps I'm going to change my mind. I read an article in a magazine urging people to walk 1,000 miles in 2023 as part of a fitness regime. So I thought I might join this and see if I can walk another 1,000 miles. I will only be keeping a weekly log rather than a daily one, won't be asking for sponsorship and won't beat myself up if I don't make it. Over the past two years I have, however, walked over 2900 miles. And I don't really enjoy walking that much.

Apparently silent discos are the coming thing. The idea is you have your own set of headphones with your own playlist from a mobile phone and boogie on down along with others who will probably be dancing to completely different music.
There's a gig coming up at a Norwich venue where those taking part can listen to any of a number of playlists put together by DJs. Sounds like a bit pointless to me.
