The only good thing about high temperatures in September is that the sun goes down early and it cools off. Otherwise there's not a lot going for it, although I'm sure many of you will disagree.
Yesterday was the latest old farts' lunch at the Queen's Head.
o a big shout out for the Queen's Head and why I hear you ask? Well along with the bowl of sauces in their packets were a small pair of scissors. Now this may not sound much to you but how many times have you tried to open a sachet of ketchup or brown sauce and the damn thing wouldn't tear?
You end up trying to rip it apart with your teeth and then it explodes and you get a mouthful of sauce. Now you can see what an exciting life I have by the fact I get excited about a restaurant providing a pair of scissors to open them with.
The Old Farts had the same banter (much of which was far too rude to repeat here). I seemed to be the butt of many of the smart comments and caustic repartee. I don't know why. I'm a serious person and not a figure of fun.
OK I'm a figure of fun, but somebody has to take the brickbats. Has anyone ever played with a brickbat?
The Queen's Head has a number of ancient adverts for a variety of products, one of which was Bibby Cakes. Has anyone an idea what these are? No looking at the Internet and I will let you know tomorrow, although I'm sure somebody will post the answer in the comment section.
Weird dream time - I'm at home taking a GCSE exam in human biology. I have two hours to complete the paper. There's a knock on the door and there stands former Anglia Television sports presenter Kevin Piper who asks me to appear on his football chat show and it will only take 20 minutes. I have a quick think and realise I can appear on the show and still get back to finish off the GCSE exam. Somehow I'm suddenly on an island going to the airport on a bus. Get to the airport and realise I have left a green bag behind and that bag has passports and other documentation in it. Then I wake up and my first thought is: "Don't need the passports after all." Weird or what?
Last night I went with friends to a play at Beccles. It was a very poignant evening and I will tell you all about it tomorrow.
