Then it moved to Liverpool where it was lambs.
Then Norwich went from Dinosaurs to Dragons and then Gorillas.
And we have hit the trail again.
I'm of course referring to trails to spot highly colourful and decorated models that spring up model like all over our city and in many others as well.
The Liverpool ones were called SuperLambBananas. In Norwich we have had Go Go Dragons, Go Go Dinosaurs and Go Go Gorillas and now we have a hybrid of Go Go Dinosaurs and Mammoths. The idea is to get hold of a trail map and find the models. They are to be found in the city centre and then slightly further out and they are a good way of seeing areas that may not be on the usual tourist trails.
The other threequarters loves spotting them. We use the pretext that the grandkiddles need to find them but, after spotting a few, they would rather go to the Gelato in Opie Street for ice cream.
I took a few pictures of the first ones spotted on Tuesday to give you a bit of an idea of what I'm on about.
I wonder how many other cities other than the three mentioned have these kind of trails.
Today it's back to tennis for the first time in quite a while. Just hoping my ankle holds up as it seems to be rather sore with all the walking. I am aware that today is the last day of June. So I should be over halfway to my target of 1,500 miles in 2022, raising funds for the East Anglian Air Ambulance. I am aware though that January to the end of June is 181 days which means we have 184 to go. But I'm very pleased to say that, despite this month walking an average of just under four miles a day, I am still ahead of my target.
I have to say averaging over four miles a day is quite tough. Averages are funny things. Have a day off or a few days when I only walk a mile and then I have to put in a giant effort to get back on track.
Yesterday was a very busy day for us with 12 hours at the Royal Norfolk Show. I will tell you all about that and include photographs in tomorrow's blog.
