There was yet another warning on daytime TV today as scammers are getting more sophisticated and more sneaky.
One of the latest is for scammers finding out where parcels are being delivered by a genuine delivery company. They wait for the parcel to be delivered and then turn up a minute or so later and tell the homeowner that the parcel was delivered there by mistake and their real parcel will be delivered later on the day. They then hotfoot it with the parcel never to be seen again.
My problem is very quickly becoming a concern that genuine messages from genuine sources may be ignored as I fear they too are scam calls. I can just see myself saying "I didn't pay that bill because I thought it was a scam."

I wish I was Gyles Brandreth. Actually I don't mean that. I don't really want to be Gyles Brandreth. What I'm saying here is I wish I had kept everything from my life like GB. He seems to have kept everything from when he was at primary school up to the current time.
I seem to have only started in the past 15 years or so and so have lost so much stuff. I was thinking this because I mentioned yesterday my time working in Cromer. I don't seem to have any photographs from my time there, which is a shame as I have lots of happy memories. Now I'm scrabbling around trying to recreate things from the past to include in my autobiography.
Mind you I bet GB needs a big house for his box loads of memories.

People who want to talk to me and dogs who feel like being wound up. Those are the things that seem attracted to me.
In the changing rooms yesterday a dear man was very quick to say that he had lost two stone in 10 days. Personally I reckon that's pushing it a bit. Talk about a crash diet, that's more like an earthquake diet.
He started by groaning at the thought of going to the gym again. Going to the gym is one of those things that always feels better after than before.
"My doctor wanted to put me on tablets for depression but I told him I would like to try natural ways first," he said. Good luck to him is what I say.
As for dogs. Well in a lounge I met Percy who started by barking at me and then wanting to play. I seem to have that affect on dogs of all colours and shapes. Perhaps it's because my face has a kind of "it's time to play" look to it.

There are book sales and book swaps everywhere. Was in a lounge yesterday where there was quite an extensive one. I picked up one about beach huts. I love beach huts. I've no idea why because as the book says, they are nothing more than glorified sheds. But the author also has a love of sheds (sorry beach huts).
I don't know what my fascination is with beach huts. It has to be something about the seaside but I love the different kinds and the different colours despite the fact that you need a mortgage to afford one. Huts at Southwold cost six figures. Whenever I see beach huts I take photos of them.

And talking of photos. I promised some of North Norfolk, but for once aren't going to be able to deliver a lot. Popped into Sheringham and had lunch at very nice cafe/tea rooms overlooking the sea. We went there in the summer and enjoyed it so a return visit was on the cards.
Today it was much quieter so getting a table was easier and the pea and mint soup was good.
On the way back to the car we did a bit of shopping at Tesco's where we had parked the car ( three hours allowed in winter). One of the things I hate about supermarkets ( actually there are lots of things I hate about supermarkets) is how they criticise rival supermarkets.
It's not just supermarkets that do this of course. How many times have you had workmen in who look at something you want done or repaired and say "whoever did this wiring" or "whoever put this in for you?"
Tesco's in Sheringham had a number of products with the words "price matched to Aldi. " My immediate thought was "well if they are price matched to Aldi we may as well go to Aldi because presumably the goods without those stickers, IE the majority in Tesco's are more expensive.
Back to the few photos I did take. There's a couple of unusual gardens, a war memorial and a nice remembrance touch with large poppies on lamp posts commemorating the war dead from the town.
I hope to have more photos for you tomorrow.
