My how learning has changed. Granddaughter Poppy came for a sleepover.
We set up her own web site and then we played internet teaching games. I actually love these games as they are a wonderful way for youngsters to learn whilst they are having fun and just think they are playing.
I think the first thing I had that was quiz related was a magic robot which consisted of a small green robot with a pointing thingee that asked the questions and then pointed to the answers.
It wasn't magic of course and worked through magnets. I was intrigued by it for a long time and well after learning all the answers off by heart. That of course is the problem with quiz games. Once you've played them a few times you can remember many of the answers and sound really knowledgeable in company whilst you are really answering the questions through memory rather than knowledge.
Nevertheless I had lots of quiz games including Double Your Money, Take Your Pick, Criss Cross Quiz and many others all leading to the King of quiz games Trivial Pursuits.
To finish today we will have the wit and wisdom of eight year old Poppy.
"Grandad I know when you were born. It was in 1592. "
