My recent photographs from the 1993 May Day carnival prompted lots of response. I also included a photograph of staff from Woodside School which I believed to have been taken on the same day. I now understand this was in support of a Red Nose Day (no idea of the date) and not as part of the carnival.
That photo included the then head Vivienne Horobin and this morning I have received the sad news that Viv died a couple of weeks ago from cancer. I will be trying to draw together a tribute piece for the next Hethersett Herald.
Read also on Facebook today that many of the woodland art installations in the fields around Hethersett have either been stolen or damaged by obvious acts of vandalism.
I am always at a loss to express my anger when this happens - the mindless and deliberate destruction by a moronic minority spoiling the fun for families and other people. And I don't subscribe to the "there's nothing for us to do" idea put forward by some young people.
Actually there is so much for them to do that doesn't involve wrecking art and vandalising things. I will say no more because it does make me so angry.
Today's photographs are of another quick visit to Norwich. As well as obvious landscapes I have tried to take some unusual subjects and angles and hope that you enjoy them.
As of today I will be limiting my blog posts to this site and the All Things Hethersett Facebook page. Please do keep reading through these outlets and thanks once again to everyone for their support of what I have been doing for the past two months.
