Following my comments on various social media sites I have been overwhelmed by the response with over 200 comments - 99% of which are saying enough is enough and we must have proper facilities before any more development is approved.
Many people have viewed the meeting where the decision to accept another 200 houses was approved. Many expressed their concern that the decision was wrapped up in legalise and didn't fully take into account the human side of things. I am a very simple person who believes that decisions should be taken after considering how they will affect people. Obviously that is a very naive view, but it is one I will continue to hold.

I hope you enjoy some of the photos of the Dorset coast that I promised yesterday. It took about seven hours to get back home, although that did include an hour stop for coffee in Winchester.
I have been to Winchester before but couldn't remember it and it's certainly somewhere to spend an entire day another time.
We didn't have enough time to go inside the cathedral, but I must admit I wasn't keen to do so anyway. "All Welcome" said the banners. But all are welcome at a price. There's an entry fee. I know that it costs a great deal of money to keep historic churches and Cathedrals going but I am very much against paying to go in.
Apparently there are still a handful of Cathedrals that charge for entry. We literally had about 15 minutes for our visit and it would have cost us about £16. Full price admission I believe was £9.99 per person which is just plain ridiculous.

We are moving towards a cashless society but not when it comes to car parking at times. In Winchester we parked on the roadside close to the city centre. It was a maximum of one hour and the charge (payable at a meter) was 70p. No change given, it stated, so I had to pop £2 in as it was the only change I had. Still only got an hour though. Surely these machines can be made to give change (although of course that would cut their income from idiots like me who rarely carry the correct money). I must return to the days of keeping a bag full of small change in the car glove department.

Heard yesterday that Rowan House health and well being centre in Hethersett has been sold to Wymondham Veterinary Clinic. I will be doing a full story on this for my next Hethersett Herald e-magazine.
