During that period we were unable to witness a relegation from the Premiership and a promotion from the Championship for Norwich City. It was good to be back and over 27,000 were there to see the Canaries lose 3-0 to Liverpool.
It was a day of celebration and not one in which to be downhearted as this was a match we didn't really expect to win. There will be better days ahead. Norwich played well enough to suggest that this time we will be very competitive when we come up against some of the lesser teams.
It may be well over a year since we sat in the stadium but the same old faces were around us, suggesting that everyone has survived COVID. So much has happened since the previous game against Leicester in February 2020.

I'm currently working on the next edition of my Hethersett Herald e-magazine and a number of issues keep cropping up which I will feature.
The first is abuse from young people aimed at ladies. This has been taking the form of sexually explicit comments made to a number of residents and the matter has been put into the hands of the local police who will be taking action.
To me this is as bad as racism and almost falls into the same category as harassment.
The second issue is people using mobile phones whilst driving. This seems to be ridiculous and highly dangerous, particularly when most cars nowadays are supplied with bluetooth phone connections. People have been seen driving with one hand whilst on the phone and also texting whilst driving. It seems incredible to me that drivers find this acceptable and not dangerous. Another matter for the police.

Hethersett and Tas Valley Cricket Club's promotion chances from Division One of the Norfolk Alliance seem to have diminished slightly following defeat at Lowestoft last week. With Thetford winning something like six games in a row, we are now in third place. We need to take maximum points from our remaining two games and hope that league leaders Bradfield beat second place Thetford in the final game of the season. If that happens it could be a photo finish.
