And what was the government's response to this story? Yes they issued a statement stating how much money they are putting into the NHS. These people are unbelievable, not to mention completely uncaring. Somewhere between the arguments between the Government and the Unions are ordinary people whose lives are being ripped apart in the name of disputes. People in our country are becoming scared at the thought of being taken ill.

Local elections are coming up in May. The turn out will probably be low but now it will be lower and why? Well now you have to take photo I'd with you as a move to cutback on election fraud. I repeat these are local elections. I don't think there is a lot of election fraud at district and parish level.
A few years ago I applied to be a clerk for elections. Due to COVID I've only been called on once. But if I'm called on in Hethersett in May I will have to insist on people having photo ID. That means if the other threequarters turns up with no photo I will have to ask her to go home and return later when she does have ID. What absolute nonsense. I've only lived with her for almost 50 years. I think I would know if it was someone impersonating her. Mind you many have tried without success to do so.

Sorry this has been a good old moan but I have to finish off with Barclays Bank. Due to being scammed I had to have a new debit card sent. This duly came but when I tried to log into internet banking it wouldn't accept my pin. I spent 90 minutes speaking to six different people on five separate phone calls and went into Norwich to try and change my pin number at an ATM as I had been instructed to do. After all that I was no closer to being able to activate my new card.
So yesterday I went into Barclays in Wymondham. There they were very helpful but couldn't activate my card either and offered to send me a new pin number. And what did I find amongst the post when I got home. Yes a new pin number for my debit card. My original letter that came with the card said that my existing pin would be fine - it wasn't. I have no idea why I couldn't have been told on my phone calls that a new pin was on its way. That would have saved me one and a half hours of frustration and anger.
Is it me or were things much simpler in the past without all the layers of bureaucracy. I suspect most of it is to stop people being scammed, something that hasn't worked with me.
At Barclays I did pick up a publication entitled The Little Book of Big Scams. Re-arrange the following words into a phrase.
Stable Door shutting after the bolted has horse the.
