Today's Steward Stroll took us around the fields to Great Melton Church and then back along the road.
It was another lovely day for a walk of just under five miles and the sun cast some interesting shadows. So plenty of photographs again which I hope you enjoy. I realised that I have never taken a single picture of the village water tower. So today I took two. It's not the most glamorous structure but it does act as a landmark for the village if you are out on a ramble and get lost!
I seem now to be getting into a routine of posting a Down Memory Lane history blog in the mornings and then an up to date walking blog in the afternoon or evening.
I am very grateful for suggestions for my history blogs. If there is something you would like to see included just let me know. I have had two requests today. The first is a companion to my piece about the racecourse and will be about the famous racehorse called Hethersett. Watch out for that one tomorrow.
The second is for an article on the Hethersett Tea Plantation in Sri Lanka. A number of years ago friends of mine from Yorkshire visited this and sent me a load of photographs which I will try to find and pop some of them online.
