So I decided to have a look at a specific website. Some days ago I related the story of Walter Howes from Wymondham.
As a result of that, Chris Tubby sent us all a link to the Howes one name study website. What a phenomenal site it is. I became totally engrossed in it despite not having any connections to the Howes family or any of its alternative spellings.
I hope I have this correct. The idea behind the one name studies is to include as many people with a specific surname as can be found.
At the risk of a pun here the Howes site is a monumental undertaking and shows just how one of these sites should be done.
I have often contemplated doing something similar but realise that the time it would take would be massive. I would still like to do something with the surnames DEW, STEWARD and SANDALL and perhaps someday I will get round to at least starting it. Who knows somebody may have already started one. I really must check.

Good news on the local pub front. The Green Dragon at Wymondham is set to re-open with new landlords with an historical family connection to the town. Let's hope that this historic pub now goes from strength to strength and let's hope that our village's King's Head soon finds new landlords as well.

Sometimes I want to do something electronic but don't know how to do it. So I look it up on the Internet and usually find the instructions so confusing that I resort to trial and error. Often I'm told that it's a simple matter of activating a specific button but when you look for this specific button it's just not there. Anyone else have this problem?

I have had a cold for a number of days which has made sleeping difficult. But it has given me a money making idea for our Government. They should tax colds and flu. They could call it a congestion charge.
They could also tax people for owning certain small pieces of metal. It could be a tacks tax.
