Then summer comes and it's so warm that you can't sleep and so you say "I wish it was considerably cooler."
I call it the "I wish" syndrome. It dominates our lives. A matter of never being happy with where you are, who you are and much more. I wish it was cooler, I wish it was Friday. There's always something that you wish for.
But remember the saying "Be careful what you wish for." But I do wish it was cooler.
Isn't it strange that when it's so hot just sitting in a chair and writing becomes a real chore?

The bus shelter on the B1172 road is back up and running which will be of no interest to anyone who doesn't live in Hethersett, but it was nice to see that it's back after the previous brick one was demolished by a car. The previous previous one was demolished by a library. Now we no longer have a brick one - presumably just in case there's a hat-trick of destruction.

Today I'm hoping to pop into Norwich to have coffee with a friend. Yesterday we popped down to the cafe in the village and had iced coffee - just couldn't face anything hot. It should be an interesting day as well. I mentioned a few blogs ago that I had been contacted by somebody I worked with in the early 1970s at Lowestoft. She is researching her family tree and that means a trip to a few graves in Hethersett. It will be nice to catch up and remember Suffolk from all those years ago.
I spent much of this morning printing out an entire survey of Hethersett Churchyard written by acquaintance Edmund Perry. I have also put together a history of the parish church, a history of various rectors and Hethersett in the two world wars. I'm sure I will touch on these subjects in the not too distant future.
I was contacted yesterday by the East Anglian Air Ambulance to see how I was getting on with my marathon walk. While it's hot I'm just doing a short two mile stroll each day if I can manage it. But that means I will have to step things up (pardon the pun) when it gets cooler.
This has been a slightly shorter blog than usual today as I have been wrapped up in the three publications I am wrestling with at the moment.
