For those who didn't see it, Ronaldo had two Coke bottles in front of him as he took his seat. He moved both out of the camera's sight and replaced them with a bottle of water.
It was his way of saying that such fizzy drinks have no part to play in fitness and should be avoided. I agree wholeheartedly with this, the problem for me is I enjoy the taste of Coca Cola but it has raised my awareness of the problems of these sugary drinks.
In a restaurant a couple of days ago I watched a couple of young men work their way through about four bottles of overpriced Coke.

Regular readers will know how much I hate the rip off that is car parking charges in many parts of the country.
I usually mention one of our favourite places - Southwold - in this where there is buckets of on road free parking and a couple of very large car parks where £1 an hour is charged and which are usually virtually empty for the obvious reasons.
But this has all been topped by our visit to Windsor. The town was much quieter than I had expected and getting food was easy. So I wasn't greatly surprised when we passed a car park to find it only about one-quarter full. "Plenty of car parking" I mentioned to my other threequarters (ie the wife).
Then I checked the parking fees. They were £5.80 for one hour (yes £5.80) or £8 for two hours. Now that is just ludicrous. No wonder there were plenty of places.

How do I see the Chesham and Amersham by-election I hear you ask (or maybe you didn't)?
The result was certainly a shocker for the prime minister - just underlying further how untrustworthy he is and how we are all fed up with his pathetic spat with Dominic Cummings.
But it was also a disaster for the Labour party who voters seem to have equally turned their backs on and seem to trust as much as they do the Tories. They polled a miserable 622 votes which saw finish behind the Green Party.
But before the Lib Dems start celebrating they need to realise that this was a protest vote as much as a vote for their policies. It would certainly be interesting if there was a general election tomorrow but of course there isn't going to be so we all have to soldier on with what we already have whether we like it or not.

Tomorrow I will have a photo gallery from a visit to the National Trust property at Nymans which is in Handcross in West Sussex. We got there after heavy rains had abated but there was still damage to many of the shrubs which looked quite sorry for themselves. Still managed to take numerous photos on a very grey day and I will post some of them tomorrow.

So glad there are plans for a permanent memorial to Dame Vera Lynn on the White Cliffs of Dover. Dame Vera died a year ago yesterday. It would be a fitting tribute to somebody who contributed so much during and after the Second World War and whose most famous song is one of love and hope and of course about the white cliffs.

Didn't realise until today that two of our favourite people share a birthday. Yesterday saw Sir Paul McCartney turn 79 and also saw Delia Smith celebrate her 80th birthday. One has done so much for music and the other has been at the helm of the mighty Norwich City for many many years.
