Suddenly it's the middle of the morning and virtually nothing has been achieved. I suppose it's a form of jetlag in a very small way.
It also puts my walking schedule out of kilter. I actually walked from Hethersett to my son's at Wymondham which sounds like a long way but it was well under my average daily walk and under the 4.1 miles I need to do every day to reach my 1,500 mile target for the year.
The walk to Wymondham was just over three miles and took an hour. There I was overheating as usual and taking my fleece off and walking in just a very thin t-short and I passed a gentleman who was wearing a hat, gloves, a winter coat and a mask. I can't believe that he was cold under all that lot.
Spent a lovely afternoon with the grandchildren and made the mistake of going on the trampoline again, something I had made a mental note never to do again. Came off unscathed though.
In the evening I got stuck into the April edition of Hethersett Herald and I'm struggling to get it out on time which should be this Thursday or Friday at the latest. The problem is the almost insane amount of news surrounding the village at the moment. So this month I have learnt (or should that be learned I never really know) the following.
- £4 million has been set aside for a new health centre/doctors' surgery
- A grant of well over £200,000 has been awarded by football authorities towards a new pavilion/community building on the playing field
- A six year old has become the first Rainbow in Hethersett to get a gold badge
- Hethersett people have been going out of their way to support Ukraine.
- The future of Hethersett Butchers is assured
- Beryl bikes and e-scooters are on their way to Hethersett
and much much more. You'll have to wait until the Herald is published to find out all the details.
The lovely picture with this blog is of the Rainbow presentation.
It's a busy week ahead for me, working on various publications and I am looking forward to Tuesday evening when I will be popping along to Hethersett Academy to see their production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. It seems a long long time since we went to see their production of Bugsy Malone which was before lockdown. In fact it was a long long time.
I will be sending in a report on this to the Eastern Daily Press newspaper.
