I really do need to carry a little notebook around with me and pop ideas down when they come up.
I saw yesterday that Amazon has stopped its posturing about Visa Credit Cards. Having said that from January 19th it would no longer accept payment by Visa, it has now sent e-mails round saying it is in negotiations. In other words it was a touch of politics between Amazon and Visa with Amazon trying to pay less in a kind of threatening way. As usual the only people messed around with all this are the consumers. I had to change my method of payment and will now have to change it back again. Thankfully that's not too arduous but it does illustrate once again that the customer is the person who always gets the rough end of the stick.

Here's a little music quiz for everyone. I watched an interview with a British singer-songwriter on Breakfast TV yesterday. He was plugging his new album which is out this Friday. So here are the questions (no prizes - just a bit of fun and no using the internet)
1/ How is Declan McManus better known?
2/ Name a song of his with a military connection in the title.
3/ What was his father's Name?
4/ On which classic radio show did his father regularly sing?
5/ What was the catchphrase of the main character on that radio show?
Answers tomorrow.

I mentioned the other day that one of my favourite living composers is Jimmy Webb.
Some of you may not have heard of him but you have certainly heard of some of his songs - "By The Time I Get to Phoenix," "MacArthur Park," "Galveston," "Wichita Lineman" and many more.
I used to buy LPs if they had any songs on them written by Webb. I also bought albums that he had produced like a really fine one by The Supremes. I often bought them blind without hearing them and was very rarely disappointed.
One of his songs "If These Walls Could Speak" has turned up on the excellent comedy/drama After Life which I waxed lyrical about a couple of days ago. The music in this drama is excellent and well chosen by somebody who obviously knows their stuff.
My favourite two Webb written albums are by the Irish actor Richard Harris (yes that Richard Harris). "A Tramp Shining" and "The Yard Went On Forever" are both outstanding examples of a songwriter's craft.

Yesterday brought us broad blue skies without a cloud in sight. I had a walk to and round Wymondham. Took more photographs of Wymondham Abbey to go with the hundreds I already have. Hope you enjoy some of them.

Walk update on my attempts to raise £500 during the year for the East Anglian Air Ambulance by walking a minimum of 1,500 miles. To date I have completed just over 85 miles at around five miles a day. Plenty still to do. The Air Ambulance charity has kindly sent me a T-shirt to wear when I'm on my rambles. It might be a while before I'm brave enough to step out just wearing a T.
