Yesterday was one of my full on days.
It started with two hours tennis in the morning and then into Norwich for a trustees meeting of the Norfolk Family History Society. Straight back to the village from that for a meeting of the Friends of Hethersett Library and then a quick bite to eat before going to a meeting of Hethersett Writers Group.
Came home from that lot feeling pretty tired. At least I don't have time to get bored. The problem is how do you know when you're over egging the pudding? Or to put it another way, how do you know when you have bitten off more than you can chew? Or to put it a third way, how do you know when you have become overloaded?
It's a tough one to answer because as they always say. "If you want something done, ask someone who is busy."
Do you ever get the feeling that your life is out of control? I certainly do at times but I'm not sure I would want it any other way. Now let me just put that " do not disturb" sign on the study door before I shut it and try to answer all the outstanding emails and generally catch up on everything.
Sometimes time can hang heavy when you don't have much to do but sometimes it just races past. The trouble is if I have meeting after meeting after meeting I feel at a loss to know what to do when I'm not at a meeting. And another problem is every meeting gives you more things to do and the demands just pile up and you have no time to catch up on any of them because you are too busy attending meetings. Ho hum.

Apologies for a few literals and mistakes that crept into yesterday's blog. Sometimes they are so long and involved that I don't read through them closely enough.
The date of the David Bowie concert I mentioned going to in Harlow should have been April 20th 1972 which was over a year before Ziggy's final concert.

The other threequarters was flicking through the channels on the telly box a couple of nights ago. This is something she regularly does. We had finished watching Coronation Street and she alighted on a comedy murder drama. I enjoy these whilst realising that there isn't anything funny in murder. But these are light and amusing dramas.
This one was about a group of tourists on a literary tour where their members kept being bumped off at the sites visited in the same way as in the books featured. It was funny and full of sharp wit and twists and turns. I will be looking out the other episodes.
One bit had me laughing. The group were talking about the possibility of having the paparazzi following them.
"Mate we are in Yorkshire. Over here they think paparazzi is a pizza topping."

Had an interesting discussion at writers club about journalism and whether Huw Edwards should have been hounded by the Media for something the Police look as if they won't be pursuing.
My take is that when you are a public figure, permanently in the public eye and earning vast sums of money, a high level of behaviour should be expected of you.
A man who covered both the Queen's funeral and the Coronation needs at all times to behave in an appropriate manner. This is what we expect and where we are so often let down.
One interesting comment surrounded whether footage of the two historic events can ever be shown on television again with Hew Edwards' commentary.
