No don't all panic or rush out to celebrate. I'm not stopping writing them but from tomorrow and for a few days they will take on a travelogue of our latest mega trip and not just feature my interminable waffle. Yes folks you are being subjected to my interminable travel waffle.
I will explain more tomorrow. But for today, what shall I talk about? How about the weather?
Why do British people have this obsession about talking about the weather? The weather is what it is. It's not something you can do anything about. Mind you I really don't like the wind. I don't like the rain either and the sun really does for me.
See what I've done there? I've started talking about the weather.
Another one is the question: "Where are we?" The other threequarters is regularly asking me this as if I have the foggiest idea as to where we are.
My answer is always the same;
"I can absolutely confirm that we are here. If we weren't here we would be somewhere else."
Of course this never seems to help much.
As I write this the lyrics of Lazy Sunday by the Small Faces keep coming to mind. They aren't about the weather but as you know my mind flies in all directions and they somehow conjure up those lazy hazy Sunday afternoons of summer that now seem to be lost in the mists of time.
I'm not quite sure what the mists of time are though. But for those still with me, here are those lyrics:
Lazy Sunday afternoon
I've got no mind to worry
Close my eyes and drift away
There's no one to hear me
There's nothing to say
And no one can stop me
From feeling this way, yeah
Lazy Sunday afternoon
I've got no mind to worry
Close my eyes and drift away
Tomorrow I will explain just what the travelogue is all about.
Oh and while I'm chatting to you, a massive thanks to all those who responded to my request about what you like and what you don't like about the blog.
I was very touched by many of the responses and so glad that you are still enjoying the mix of serious and flippant. I never take it for granted that by reading the blog you are allowing me and my life into your lives.
