Those are the questions that have occupied my mind (or at least the part of it that works) over the past few days.
At Monday's meeting of Hethersett Parish Council it was reported that a new spate of graffiti had appeared on a side wall of the village hall. The comment was made that this was more like street art than graffiti. So is there a difference between the two?
I suppose graffiti is something that is ugly and has no artistic merit. The kind of rubbish that has appeared on bus shelters and other areas of our village. Street Art is something that at least has some value. Have a look at the two images from our village hall and let me know whether it is street art or just another abomination that is blighting our lives.
At Monday's parish council meeting a long-standing councillor argued that all graffiti and street art is desecration, however good it is. He included the legendary Banksy as a law-breaker who doesn't ask permission before placing his artwork on buildings. But Banksy's art is worth millions and who wouldn't want to wake up to find a genuine Banksy on their walls.
My grandchildren think that I should contact the man and ask him to decorate the side of our house which would then mean we could sell it for a fortune. So if you are reading this Banksy or if anyone knows him - we are here waiting, can supply a ladder and copious amounts of coffee, although I suspect you would want to make your mark when we are asleep.

I came across a tribute to a former colleague on the internet. Roy Webster was a one off. As a freelance journalist he wrote about football and angling and I came across him regularly when I was a sports editor of various weekly papers. Roy covered Wroxham football club for us and also wrote a column on fishing.
Until I read the tribute, I wasn't aware that Roy had died. The tribute mentioned the time when he was banned from Wroxham Football Club but still managed to report on their games from a friend's bedroom overlooking their ground. As they say, where there's a will there's a way. Nobody can remember why he was banned from Wroxham but it obviously had something to do with his match reports and possibly his criticism of certain players.

A big hello this morning to friend and former police colleague Jon Smith with whom I had a lovely chat on the phone yesterday evening. Jon is a keen reader of my dribblings and reckons that he agrees with 99.9% of what I write. I meant to ask him what the 0.1% he didn't agree with was. I hope giving him a mention will bring a smile to his face.

Tomorrow's blog may be a little different. Granddaughter Poppy who is two weeks away from her seventh birthday, has insisted on writing some of the blog. So it will be over to her to say a few things. If she's as good at blogging as she is at Sudoku you will be in for a treat.
