They felt is was quite appropriate and even showed a sign of hope amongst the destruction. What do you think?

It was a strange day weather-wise yesterday. When we went on our usual Saturday trip to Norwich it was only just 15 degrees and cloudy. By the afternoon it had climbed to 23 degrees and the sun was blazing away which made it very difficult to watch the Derby. Does anyone have a way of watching a mobile phone screen in bright sunlight?

Paid our first visit of the season to watch Hethersett and Tas Valley Cricket Club play at Flordon. The match against Lowestoft was a strange one. Chasing a total of 250 in 50 overs, there seemed little appetite for a run chase and we ended up losing by 46 runs. We went with a whimper rather than a roar, although the run rate did increase towards the end of the innings.
I like taking action pictures of cricket although they don't always come out the way you want them to. I did manage to capture a few decent shots which are reproduced here. To photograph batsman, I find I have to concentrate on them close-up and assess by their movements just when the ball is about to arrive. Then you need to shoot just after the ball has left the bat. It takes time and patience to perfect and I still have some way to go.

I promised my other half (actually more like my other threequarters) that I wouldn't mention Marks and Spencer and saving £5 on spending £40. I took some stick for mentioning this last week. So I won't say anything about doing it again, leaving the shop weighed down with bags and having a fridge full of food!
