Adventure Lab is part of the Geocashing group of apps and Hethersett is one of just four venues in Norfolk to be included in what is a world-wide idea.
Each village, town or city is restricted to five places of interest with those taking part being led to the attraction by a GPS facility from within the app.
The only other places in Norfolk to be included at the moment are Norwich, King's Lynn and Little Walsingham. As well as being led to places of interest, the app also supplies details of the history and other facts. I will report back further in my second blog of the day this evening.
I would primarily like to use this blog today to promote a special service this afternoon to the memory of the 97 soldiers from the Royal Norfolk and other regiments who were killed in the massacre at Le Paradis In Northern France exactly 80 years ago today.
Usually the massacre is commemorated both in France and in Norfolk with a church service. That service in Norfolk will take place today on the Zoom social media platform. If you would like to join us please send an e-mail to Rob Edwards at memorial4leparadisheroes.uk and he will be able to send you an invite for the service which will take place around 5 pm (the time of the massacre) and which will last for about 20 minutes.
I have written about the massacre at length on previous blogs and also in various publications. If you would like to learn more about all aspects of the massacre have a look at the Le Paradis Commemoration group's website at www.leparadismassacre.com.
